My First Piece of Hate Mail

While at first it was shocking to open the email and read the words, I'm really not that surprised.

He called me a foul name in response to a flyer I sent protesting the mosque. As we have all discovered, if you are against the building of a mosque near the Ground Zero site, you are a bigot and a racist. But acccording to this guy, I was much more than that.

The left is so anti-religion, yet this is the cause whose bandwagon they jump on. What a bunch of hypocrites. They bash the Constitution, then want to use it only for their purposes.

We get the whole arguement about freedom of religion. That's not what this is about. The fact that this group of developers is vehemently opposed to putting this mosque in another location is proof of the fact that this is not about "building bridges." There are already 100 mosques in NYC. Why must this one be built right there?

Those on the left are never open to honest dialogue in a reasonable manner. It seems without fail, they must restort to the lowest of lows and use the foulest language to convey their feelings. Since they have no real, logical argument, I guess that's how they express their frustration.

Think about it, it really must be frustrating to try to express feelings that don't make sense.

Yet, conservatives are the "unfeeling haters" amongst us.

Well, if that's the behavior of such caring individuals, I'll stay where I am.

My Hero - John Galt

I recently read "Atlas Shrugged" and felt as though Ayn Rand was here, right now, writing about what is happening in our country. Once I got to the part in the book where the government wanted to start regulating what people ate, I was blown away. I thought, "Wow, these people never change the game plan!" It's the same recycled nonsense over and over again. Amazing.

These socialists keep trying to sell people the same garbage and don't care that they keep getting the same outcome - no one wants what they have to sell!

With this "health care reform" we will have to deal with, I have begun to wonder what would happen if doctors just gave up their practices? What if they walked away, like John Galt did? What if doctors refused to negotiate with a government who only wanted to take their knowledge, experience and expertise with an offer of nothing in return?

Who would then be at whose mercy? And who, among us, would be brave enough to do it?

Constitutional Amendments and Citizenship Rights

An excellent article by Jonah Goldberg on National Review Online:

From the article:
Liberal devotees of the “living Constitution” always made a fair point. The Founding Fathers never envisioned a world with jet planes, split atoms, stem-cell therapies, one-click porn, or MTV’s Jersey Shore. Similarly, the ratifiers of the 14th Amendment would be stunned to learn, in July of 1868, that they had just created an adamantine right for homosexuals to marry one another and receive state benefits to boot, as a federal judge in California recently decided (overruling, I might add, the will of California voters).
