Isn't America supposed to be the land of opportunity? The country where so many people risk their lives trying to get to?
So, after risking life and limb to make a future for themselves, they're now going to be punished for their hard work and success?
The only thing getting in the way of more people becoming successful is government - not rich people. Of course, this administration needs a scapegoat for everything.
Case in point: for 17 years I worked for myself as a massage therapist. During the last two years of my career, the government started getting involved in all aspects of my business. The town required a license. The State required a certification and proof of education. The Treasury Department now wanted us to collect sales tax. And to keep in good standing, I had to take additional educational requirements. These classes usually take place all day Saturday - the day I had the most business. So, aside from all the paperwork that needs to get filled out, paying of sales tax, I'm also expected to give up a full day of work for a class. After being in the business for 15 years, I can say that there wasn't much new or innovative that was worth me paying $300 for a course.
Who had the most influence in being a pain in my business and put up roadblocks to my business? It's certainly wasn't the rich guy.
He was the one busy giving me a salary.
